Dr. Melissa Andrade

Dr. Melissa Andrade was born and raised in Scituate, Massachusetts and grew up with Scituate Harbor Vision Source as her family’s local eye care provider. She is very excited to now be practicing in the community she has always called home.

Dr. Andrade graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014 with a dual degree; A Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then went on to pursue her Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry and graduated in 2019 with honors.

While at NECO, Dr. Andrade completed clinical rotations with the VA in Brockton, Tufts Children’s Hospital, Boston University Eye Associates, many community healthcare centers throughout the Boston area and New England Eye Southeastern MA working with low vision patients and individuals with disabilities. Her optometric training consisted of exposure to different specialties including ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatrics and vision therapy.

Dr. Andrade is a TPA certified optometrist in Massachusetts and is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists as well as the American Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, baking and taking walks along Scituate’s many beaches.
